Description

Put a spin on end of year awards with this reading activity. Students analyze ten different characters through ten reading passages and comprehension questions. Then, students use text evidence to assign each student (character) an end of year award.

This is a great way for students to practice making inferences and supporting their thoughts with evidence from the text. There are two versions to this resource.

•Option 1-Pgs. 2-11 – Students design their own end of the year award for each student.

•Option 2-Pgs. 12-21 – Students cut out and glue the pre-made awards on the indicated space.

In either version, students must use text evidence to justify the award give to each student. As an extension, you can assign students the award and have students write the passages.
