This resource includes instructions for students to write an advice letter to someone in next year’s class. Letter writing is somewhat of a lost art and this activity engages students through writing, video, article and radio interview links and a reflection task card. It also includes a task sheet and a visual checklist, a brainstorming handout, small strips of paper to record good advice and task cards to write advice and record favorite memories. I also made small notecards to write to graduates to offer advice and good wishes. A rubric is included. This activity is an ideal culminating activity. The end of the year is the perfect time to write, reflect and share. I did it for my AP Psychology students. Students rolled up the letters and tied a ribbon around them. It was fun to open them in September for new students.
