This makes a great activity for the end of year!
Swim into summer with this adorable fish writing craftivity because summer is o"fish"ally on its way!
My students used this as the topic for their creative writing stories. Graphic organizers were used, describing the different looks, sounds, and feels of summer. The information gleaned from this graphic organizer became the main ideas for each paragraph of their descriptive writing pieces.
Your own students will have fun creating this cute little fish and writing original poems or short stories to finish up an ocean unit or to help celebrate the start of summer fun! These activities make a great addition to summer packets.
This fish craftivity download includes graphic organizers to get students listing adjectives and verbs to help write their diamante-like poems.
Directions for the poems and an example are included as well as the template to write their final copies. The poem template has two copies on the same page. I have my students use one copy for their sloppy copy and the other for their final draft.
It also includes graphic organizers, comparing and contrasting a fish to a frog and summer to winter. Additional blank templates have also been included for making comparisons.
Several creative writing templates have also been added, reflecting fish and summer fun themes. Two versions are available. There are templates with wide lines for younger students and narrower lines for older students.
In addition, all of the pattern pieces needed to create the finished product are included.
All graphics and/or fonts are original work by Melonheadz, Pink Cat Studio, and Krista Wallden.
Please check out the preview for all pages included in this download, with the exception of the patterns.
