A fun activity for one of the last days at school. It's in the format of a table quiz presentation. Questions are general knowledge or trivia - movies, books, history, geography, sport, science and music.
My class size is usually 25-30, so I usually divide students into groups/tables of 4 (3 is also good, more than 5 is difficult).
Use Labels to identify each group. Distribute answer sheets to each group. These are also available free at Table Labels
and Answer Sheets
There are thirty questions in the quiz - three rounds of ten questions. After the first ten questions, there is an opportunity to see all ten questions in that round. At this stage, I collect the answer sheets and while the next round is in progress, I score it. After the review of all questions in the second round, the answers to the first round are displayed. You may wish to change the order of the presentation, but this works very well for me.
I usually draw a grid on the whiteboard as a scoreboard. I write up the scores for each team by round. Usually there is a lot of mental arithmetic as they work out running totals, check who's winning etc.
The quiz usually takes about 30-40 minutes. Students get a real kick out of this activity.
