This is a fun resource to do with your students toward the end of the school year when students are restless and summer is looming! The eight vocabulary words included are:
beverage, crave, drought, frivolous, liberated, mischief, reluctant, seldom
There are three activity pages included:
1) define the eight words (answer key included);
2) write sentences using two of the vocabulary words (provided), eight different examples;
3) nonsense sentences: students underline the incorrect word and provide the vocabulary word that correctly completes the sentence (answer key provided).
Also included is a “Categories” game with 12 pages of 6 cards for a total of 72 unique game cards. The cards are made up of six categories with 6 different topics: Fun Things, Events, Weather, Travel, Food, and Pastimes. Each card also has a different letter from the alphabet (not all letters from the alphabet are used). Students try to think of many items that begin with the provided letter that relate to the category.
You can instruct the students to only list words that relate to summer if you chose, or broaden their choices. Students can work alone, in pairs, or in groups. More suggestions for using this portion of the resource are included in the preview file and in the purchased resource.
I have included a game template (at the very end) with no letters on them so you/your students can choose a letter and topic.
