Product Description
Great for an engaging class pick-me-up or as an emergency sub activity!

Option 1: In this communication activity, students will work together in pairs or small groups to determine which people are worth saving and why. Time is running out. Who will they select and why?

Option 2: In this communication activity, students will either be a person applying for a spot on the space shuttle or be part of the hearing committee that chooses who lives and who dies. Time is running out. Who will they select and why?

Whether you teach adult ESL or secondary students, they're going to love this activity. Get them talking, arguing, debating. Get them thinking and justifying. Get them engaged!

Included in this resource:
✔ 1 page: teacher's page for option I of the activity
✔ 1 page: teacher's page for option 2 of the activity
✔ 4 pages: Person cards in color (used in either activity)
✔ 4 pages: Person cards in black and white (used in either activity)
✔ 2.5 pages: Summary sheet (useful for teacher and used with Option 2)
✔ 2 pages: SURPRISE! The twist that will throw them for a loop. There are two pages because in one, it turns out that the police officer used to be a woman. In case this is not a topic that can be handled by your group, in the second page he instead has cancer.

Customer Tips:

How to get TPT credit to use on future purchases:
• Please go to your My Purchases page (you may need to login). Beside each purchase you'll see a Provide Feedback button. Simply click it and you will be taken to a page where you can give a quick rating and leave a short comment for the resource. Each time you give feedback, TPT gives you feedback credits that you can use to lower the cost of your future purchases. I greatly appreciate and treasure your feedback as it helps me determine which resources are the most valuable for your classroom so I can create more for you. ☺
Although no TpT credit is given for feedback on freebies, it’s certainly an incentive to create and provide more freebies!

Be among the first to know about my new freebies and resource launches:
• Look for the green star next to my store logo and click it to become a follower. Ta-da! You will now receive email updates about new resources. You’ll also get the occasional (never more than once a month) letter in your TpT inbox. ☺
