Are you looking for a creative End of the Year activity for your students to work on that is meaningful and reflective? This writing activity is the perfect way to mix creativity with reading and writing skills, while keeping your students engaged as the school year draws to a close! Plus, it meets the writing demands of Common Core!!
This activity asks students to write a story where two characters from two novels or story that they have read over the course of the year meet!
Students are given a prompt with directions, ideas, and a planning sheet. Writing sheets and a rubric are also included in this PDF file. The rubric is completely aligned to Common Core and uses language from the standards.
Students are asked to consider characterization, setting, conflict and plot in their stories. Your students will love the creativity that this writing task provides for them!
This can be completed within Writing Workshop, Stations, Literacy Centers, with partners, or any other way that you can think of!
