Activity for 5th graders! (See other listings for 3rd and 4th.)
I love to end my year with my students by giving them a chance to reflect upon all they've learned, all they accomplished, and what memories they made.
The last few weeks of school is the best time to do this: students have a chance to reflect, teachers are looking to engage students, kids can relax by writing and illustrating, and teachers get some time to work or pack up for the summer. :)
Copy these pages front to back or side by side on 11x17 paper. Brainstorm ideas to answer the prompts as a class and then have students fill out their own papers. I collect these and hand them out to next year's students on the first day of school. They always like to see what they have to look forward to, and it's fun to read about this from former students.
