Celebrate the end of the year with a Marshmallow Day! These activities incorporate all of the subjects, including math, science, ELA, art and STEM. Plus, they’re sure to keep your kiddos engaged during your final countdown to the last day of school! Even if you’re not quite ready to end the year, a Marshmallow Day is a nice celebration for anytime of the year... end of the marking period or semester, end of a testing period, in place of a holiday celebration, or whenever you’d like! Choose the activities that work best for you, as they are very low prep!
INCLUDED ACTIVITIES
Materials List and Donation Letter - Organize and prep ahead of time with the included materials list and donation letter.
Marshmallow Shooter - Design and construct a marshmallow shooter that will shoot a marshmallow the furthest.
Chopstick Challenge - Estimate how many marshmallows you can transfer from one plate to another using chopsticks in one minute. Then, complete the activity and record your results.
Marshmallow Stack - Stack your marshmallows into a tower. Count how many marshmallows you can stack before the tower falls.
Marshmallow Measurement - Use marshmallows to measure various classroom objects.
Solar S’mores - Collaborate to construct a solar oven that will melt the marshmallow and chocolate.
Step-by-Step S’mores - Write how to make a s’more by creating a simple s’mores craft.
Five Senses Investigation - Let’s investigate marshmallows and/or s'mores using our five senses.
Marshmallow Volume - Compare the volume of various containers using mini and regular marshmallows.
S’more Gift Tag - Attach this tag to the top of a baggie containing graham crackers, marshmallow, and mini Hershey chocolate bar; and you are all set for end of the year gifts!
