This no prep project is the perfect way to wrap up the end of the year or to review for state tests like STAAR. In this project, students perform math calculations to set up a lemonade stand. Students will use ratios, rates, equations, inequalities, decimal operations, and percents to determine how to maximize their lemonade profits.
The project uses four activities that students complete, each with its own instructional emphasis:
•“The Set Up”…Finding Unit Rates
•“The Recipe”…Proportionality and Percents
•“The Money”…Proportionality and Decimal Operations
•“The Profit”…Equations and Inequalities
This unit can be used by students independently, in partners, or it can also be used for an interesting way to remediate and tutor students. Check out the preview to see everything included!
