Do you have students keep a writing portfolio but don't have them do anything with them at the end of the year? This is a terrific End-of-the-year Writing Portfolio project especially for an Advanced of Gifted Language Art's class. Students will select multiple written pieces from your LA class, their previous year portfolio and a piece from another subject to reflect on their year as a student, writer and reader. They will write forwards to each piece and reflect on their strengths and weaknesses of each. Make sure to show them this project in the beginning of the year so they know they need to be diligent with keeping their written pieces in their folders to be selected at the end of the year!
