SPRING AND SUMMER FUN!
What's in a story for you?
This product has 1 math printable and 1 grammar printable that will keep your students engaged.
Students will have to follow directions using the pictures, then solve the math problem, or answer the grammar question.
Pictures are not the same for both printables.
Answers are included.
Great for early finishers or centers.
The math reviews addition, subtraction, rounding, money, greater than or less than, and more. Students can write their answers on the printable or use a workspace page.
The grammar reviews nouns, compound words, singular and plural, verbs capitalization, punctuation, contractions, and more. Students can write their answers on the printable. Both are black ink for easy copies.
There is also a lesson plan, "What's in a story for you?"
Students will write a story about spring or summer. Patterns are used to make a small booklet. There is a lesson plan that can be teacher directed or the student can complete this activity at a learning center. ( separate directions for students)
But that's not all! When students complete their story, the stories will be posted in the room. Under each story will be an envelope. After a student reads a story, they will have to fill out a comment card telling why they liked the story, etc.
My kids loved this! Everyday they were anxious to see if they had a comment card in their envelope.
There are specific instructions in this product to complete this lesson plan, along with 22 patterns for your students to choose from, a learning center with directions for this activity if you would like for them to do it on their own, a rough draft page, comment cards (color and black ink comment cards),and tokens.
This is such a fun way to get your students engaged in writing. They will love getting a comment card in their envelope. To them, it is like getting mail! (which all kids love to get)
I have also included tokens. When a student reads a classmate's story and fills out the comment card, they can choose a token. Tokens can be used for extra credit, as a homework pass, a special classroom job, etc.
I have a similar product in my shop for grades 4 – 5.
Thanks for visiting and I wish your students much success in all they do!
Have a great week!
...and thanks for all you do!
