Part of a soon-to-be released Ecology Unit, these 14 pages include 42 different Endangered Animal Species 3-part vocabulary matching cards. All 42 animals are on the endangered animal list and there is no better time than now to start introducing children to the importance of animal conservation in our world today. The cards are grouped into Big Cats, Birds, Insects and Fish, Primates, Large to Medium Land Animals, Dolphins, Turtles and Porpoises, Whales, Sea Lions and Penguins.
3 Part Cards can be printed out, pasted onto card stock or construction paper and then laminated for longer wear and tear. Children place out a card - picture only, left to right while parents and teachers name each card as it's placed. This can be done with an individual child at a rug or table or it can be done as a group exercise at circle time. At circle time this activity can be a lot of fun as each child is called up to place a card facing the direction of the children. Cards are placed left to right to help prepare for reading readiness. After picture only cards are all laid out then the cards with picture and word are matched and placed down below with the teacher again repeating the vocabulary of each animal as the card is placed. Finally, the word cards only are placed below the second set of cards.
This set includes these particular endangered animals:
South China Tiger
Cross River Gorilla
