I made this game to showcase some of the most charismatic and endangered species on the planet (because kids love animals and I love elephants!) Elephants go "back in the wild!" with this Crazy-Eights style card game in which the Sumatran Elephant reigns as the wild #8 card.
Students get a snippet of information about each of 11 critically endangered animal species including their scientific name, where they are found, their estimated population, and a few other interesting facts that set the species apart.
This product can be used in two ways: as a fun game for your students to play in groups when there is down time on those certain days throughout the school year, and as a grouping system.
To use this product as a game, print cards back/front using the Intelligent Elephant cards as the backs. Print on card stock and laminate if possible. Follow the directions for Intelligent Elephant (a.k.a. Crazy Eights!).
To use this product as a grouping system, print the cards as above or print just the fronts (the endangered species). When you need to group your students, make sure to have the right number of cards for the class, pass out the cards at random and tell the students to find their partners. Signs to be optionally used as “meeting points” around your classroom are included in the download.
My students love playing Intelligent Elephant, so I use this as a 10 minute incentive to reward hard work!
Thanks for looking!
