Your students will have lots of fun practicing ending punctuation with these sentence strips.
These ending punctuation sentence strips can be used in lots of different ways:
Display the document on an interactive whiteboard or projector and read out the sentences as a whole group, practicing changing your voice for the difference types of punctuation
Print and cut out the strips and use them as a ‘clipping activity’, using pegs to clip the correct ending punctuation choice
Print and cut out the strips, laminate them, and have students colour in or write in the correct punctuation, then rub it off so the next person can use the strips
Students can explore how their voice sounds using different punctuation by saying each sentence with the different punctuation choices, eg. “What is your name.” “What is your name?” “What is your name!”
