ENERGY TRANSFORMATIONS

This activity can be done in several ways. It works great as a review or previewing activity!

• You can set it up as a card sorting activity where students match the object to the correct energy transformations and then record them on the data sheet. This can be done with 1 set of cards per group or table.

• You can also leave 2-3 object cards out in stations with or without the matching transformation cards. Students determine the energy transformations and record them on the data sheet.

• Another variation on the station activity is to print out several copies of the energy transformation cards. Place 1 object card at each station with 2-3 options for transformation cards. Students determine the correct transformation and record on the data sheet. This version is like giving students multiple choice answers!
