These guided notes (in combination with the "Energy Powerpoint") guide students conceptually through the different forms of energy: mechanical, kinetic, potential, heat/thermal, radiant/light, sound, electrical, nuclear and chemical. The guided notes include an extensive energy exit ticket, in which students put together their understanding verbally and visually. The powerpoint moves on to the law of conservation of energy and then to energy transfers and transformations. It includes a number of simple energy transformations that most students should be able to relate to with helpful visuals. The entire powerpoint is full of visuals and examples and quick guessing games. It is engaging and provides understandable material. It is also best followed up with "Forms of Energy and Energy Transformations Practice". The powerpoint is made to build student conceptual understanding. The content standards-aligned to 7th-grade essential standards (Energy Unit).
