Tired of supposed "learning" games that your students can't play because some haven't mastered the content? Would you rather have them play a game that teaches instead of assesses?
This card game, unlike many other science games, is designed to teach, not to assess. Someone can play without prior knowledge of energy resources. All the info they need is on the card. It is research and a game all in one! They learn by repetition which energy resources have which advantages and disadvantages. You could even give each player a “cheat sheet” with the correct matches for advantages and disadvantages. It’s not a test! They aren’t learning in order to play: they are playing in order to learn! To follow the rules below, all you have to do is print off a set of cards for each student.

Nonrenewable Resources: Coal, Natural Gas, Petroleum (Oil), Nuclear
Renewable Resources: Wind, Solar, Hydroelectric, Biomass, Geothermal
This game is designed to align to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) 6.7A: "research and debate the advantages and disadvantages of using coal, oil, natural gas, nuclear power, biomass, wind, hydropower, geothermal, and solar resources;"
