This BUNDLED packet includes TWO differentiated problem-based learning projects (PBLs), lasting 1 - 2 weeks that focus on energy: 1) a WebQuest to research energy sources {solar, hydropower, wind, nuclear, fossil fuels, and biomass energy} and 2) a persuasive project about the importance of kinetic energy (exercise) on today's youth.

Each project ties in science (energy), and social studies (current events), as well as non-fiction articles and reading comprehension sheets to aid with the research.

Project 1: The Energy Committee is looking into different energy sources and needs a recommendation of which energy source will be best for the nation. Students will read a non-fiction article (included) and complete a WebQuest, then present to the class (choosing from a PowerPoint, commercial or web-based cartoon).

Project 2: The Energy Committee is asking students to create a campaign to convince the youth of the nation to use kinetic energy instead of potential energy. Students will read a non-fiction article (included) and create a campaign with slogan (choosing from a billboard, brochure, poster or song).
