This packet includes Lessons 1-10, Module 4 for Engage NY, 1st grade. There are 10 days of PowerPoints that were taken from the teacher's manual to help keep the lesson flowing for the teacher and students. The PowerPoints help to keep the students engaged. You will not need to hold the teaching instructions. You can lay them down and use the PowerPoints to guide you. Your teaching will be so much more effective. This is a supplement to be used with Engage NY Math.
Given a two-digit number, mentally find 10 more or 10 less than the number, without having to count; explain the reasoning used.
Compare two two-digit numbers based on meanings of the tens and ones digits, recording the results of comparisons with the symbols >, =, and <.
Understand that the two digits of a two-digit number represent amounts of tens and ones. Understand the following as special cases:
Count to 120, starting at any number less than 120. In this range, read and write numerals and represent a number of objects with a written numeral.
