These PowerPoints walks through EngageNY's third grade module 6 Topic B lessons 5-9 (All lessons of Topic B.) They are meant to assist teachers in their planning & instruction by engaging students and allowing teachers a bit of freedom from their teachers guide while still sticking to the scripted lesson created by the EngageNY authors.
All of MissTeaspoon’s EngageNY PowerPoints include all parts of the lesson: Fluency, Application Problem, Concept Development and Student Debrief. In addition each includes transition slides for Fluency, Application Problem, Concept Development, Problem Set, Student Debrief, and Exit Ticket.
Every lesson starts with the lesson objective stated as an “I can” statement. Every Student Debrief starts by revisiting the lesson objective.
In addition to the EngageNY elements every PowerPoint includes a “Student Evidence” slide. This slide asks students to identify what they will be learning, why it is important, what the teacher will be looking for and how they will know if they have done a good job. This slide helps align the lesson with the Danielson Framework for Teaching as well as the STAR Protocol for Quality Teaching.
All PowerPoints have careful entry animation so the information appears with a click, allowing you control. Each day includes only one text animation to eliminate distractions.
I have taken care to include bright colors, and vivid backgrounds, daily changing the background theme for variety. Every PowerPoint is created using Ariel Font for easy download and use without requiring additional font downloads.
I have put careful planning into each PowerPoint. I created these first to use in my classroom, and secondly to share with you. After any edits are made I quickly repost a most current version.
Finally, all PowerPoints are unlocked, allowing for complete editing.
