Our district adopted the EngageNY curriculum for both math and ELA starting last year. The materials are free through the EngageNY website, but the materials only consist of Teacher Instructions.
My 7th graders needed something much more concrete.
So I began a system of creating Student Activity Packets, which include graphic organizers for each activity, writing assignment break-downs, vocabulary practice worksheets, etc. I've also been designing and revising a method for assessing the material.
***This packet takes the 10 lessons for the second half of Sudan Unit 2 and puts them into approx. 5 - 6 days of in-class work. I've included my own Editing and Revision Checklists as well, as I provide them on any writing packet.
I currently have packets for the entire Reading Closely Unit, Evidence-Based Claims mini-units, Module 1 Sudan, and most of Module 2B Lyddie. Check back later in the year as I will have uploaded packets for the remainder of Module 2b on Lyddie and next year, Module 3: Frederick Douglas.
