Our district adopted the EngageNY curriculum for both math and ELA starting this past year. The materials are free through the EngageNY website, but the materials only consist of Teacher Instructions.
My 7th graders needed something much more concrete.
So I began a system of creating Student Activity Packets, which include graphic organizers for each activity, writing assignment break-downs, vocabulary practice worksheets, Power Point Presentations for background information, etc.
This resource is a graphic organizer for Lesson 5 of Unit 1 Frederick Douglass. The packet follows the script precisely and includes the learning targets, the various activities in a user-friendly format, a Practice Test for the Mid Unit (my own creation) Mid-Unit Assessment, and Teacher Notes for conducting the lesson.
I currently have packets for the entire Reading Closely Unit, (Antarctica), Evidence-Based Claims (Cesar Chavez), Module 1 (A Long Walk to Water) and Module 2A (Lyddie) as well as Module 3, Frederick Douglass. These lessons can be purchased individually or as a bundle.
