Engineer of the week take home science bags are a great way to strengthen the home to school connection. Through interaction with the fictional world of STEM-ville the students complete engineering design challenges to help solve problems that are occurring in this imaginary town. You can utilize this kit by either sending it home, or using it in the classroom to make STEM-ville come to life!
This activity was designed as a take home project. If you are going to utilize it this way all you need to do is print out the pages on cardstock and laminate. Then attach the last page to either the front of a bag or folder. The first page (which tells the student and their families what to do) along with as few, some, or all of the task cards can be put inside the bag or folder. The rest is up to the students and their families! This is such an easy and fun way to introduce engineering and 21st century learning skills in any classroom!
This product can also be coupled with The Story of STEM-ville to introduce the students to this fictional town as well as The Map of STEM-ville to help drive their imagination and curiosity about the town. Both of these products can be found in my TpT store.
