Next Generation Science Standards asks teachers to weave the Engineering Design Process into their units, instead of teaching it in isolation. This is the perfect activity that blends biodiversity, invasive species and EDP.

Students will work through the steps of the Engineering Design Process to develop a solution for a real life problem that currently exists.

Students must:
• Conduct Background Research
• Identify constraints and limitations
• Brainstorm possible solutions
• Create a design or sketch of solution
• Put plan into action
• Evaluate and think of ways to improve the design or solution


This STEM Challenge focuses on students applying the steps of the Engineering Design Process and working collaboratively with their teammates to accomplish a specific task.
