Description

This packet is a very simple project packet I created to use for my sixth grade science class. It can be used with any project, and I edit the questions to fit each project we do, including specific questions that might ask them how what we learned relates to the real world or something we learned in class. It’s great to use after the steps of the design process have already been introduced. It has a very brief explanation of what should be included in each response to help them remember what needs to be there.

Evaluate competing design solutions using a systematic process to determine how well they meet the criteria and constraints of the problem.
NGSSMS-ETS1-4
Develop a model to generate data for iterative testing and modification of a proposed object, tool, or process such that an optimal design can be achieved.
NGSSMS-ETS1-1
Define the criteria and constraints of a design problem with sufficient precision to ensure a successful solution, taking into account relevant scientific principles and potential impacts on people and the natural environment that may limit possible solutions.
