This pack contains pages for use in an Engineering Station in an elementary classroom. We have asked families to send in electronic items that no longer work, such as cell phones, telephones, radios, calculators, remote controls, electric pencil sharpeners, etc., and students use tools to take apart the items to explore how the machines are put together. They record their findings and then use the parts to create a new machine or invention. This is a great enrichment station for gifted and talented or high achieving students.
This station is meant to encourage critical thinking, logic, and creativity and contains the following:
-Station Recording Sheets
-Station Creation Sheets
-Station Question Sheets
-Ideas/Websites for further research (Rube Goldberg & Simple Machines)
I hope your students will enjoy this station as much as mine!
Thanks so much.
