Perfect for ELA 10a and b, but also can be used in lower and higher level English. Also, it would work well in Social Studies or Social Justice Classes.
Students will accomplish a number of goals in this extremely engaging and multi-faceted Inquiry project. This could be used after the "Poetry/Song Lyric" assignment that has "Writing a Business Letter" as its main goal.
All activities work very well together to have students gain a much better understanding of what it takes to be a hero and of real individuals that have made huge differences in society. However, it is not mandatory that these different assignments go together.
In this project students will:
1. Do library researching an individual that has made a revolutionary change.
2. Make a multimedia presentation.
2. Present their research to the class.
3. Write a biographical profile.
I have had amazing feedback with this project. I also have students peer assess; peer assessment sheets are included. I have also added a teacher assessment sheet. This project can take 2-6 weeks depending on how you do it and cover many curricular goals.
