Mapping Templates with drop down CCSS menus to easily align each activity.
The intent is that this mapping excel template would be used as a recording tool for what is taught in the classrooms for both language. That information then should be aligned to the Common Core State Standards each lesson meets with the drop down menu to the side of the activity/lesson focus. This will be a tool to help us align our instruction to the CCSS and also see what the grades on either side of us are focusing on as well. This is a working document and if there are areas you want to add or remove that is fine or add colors you for your ease of reviewing the document. This is a bare bones template and can be tweaked. The main headers were used in our curriculum scope and sequence, others can be added.
ELA – There are 2 sheets in this document. The 2nd is the unpacking form with the CCSS listed on the side. This can be used as a tool to explore the CCSS at your level, and (so the levels above and below you if you wish). Resources and information for the unpacking for these can be found on line as well. The unpacking is not a necessary piece, although the list of CCSS on that page is the list that is entered on the drop down menu on the first sheet, so needs to stay in place.
The first sheet is your ELA alignment. You can enter the information that you are teaching and then in the CCSS column there is an arrow to the right that will appear when you click on the box and that will list your grade level CCSS for you to choose from to align your instruction. – without retyping. After you have completed a lesson the CCSS can be tallied over to the right side where the CCSS are listed on this same sheet. You can add a “1” for each standard and then we make totals for the columns. This will allow us to take a look at the times a standard if worked on and where we need to add our focus for each unit.
