Product Description
Are your students struggling to come up with an event to write about, remembering all the details of the event or staying motivated throughout the writing process? If that is your situation, then this project is for you.

This narrative assignment has FOUR stages allowing students the opportunity to build writing stamina, recall memories and incorporate art into the project. Students create a sketch of their home, design a legend/key showing where specific events took place, participate in a writing conference to get feedback, and write four anecdotes, which are all used to help assist them in writing a narrative essay. This project can easily be modified for younger or older students.

This is a great project to get to know your students and their home lives. I learned a lot about their family dynamics and what was important to them in their personal lives. My students were proud to display the sketches of their homes and stories.
