This language arts summer school bundle contains five products plus one bonus file (for free!) to teach English over the summer. The focus of this material is on eighth grade standards and is perfect to review for students headed into ninth grade. The majority of the material is editable and will work for a variety of grades.

The variety of activities will work for an ELA summer camp or for additions to your previous summer school English activities.

Summer school lesson plans for high school English included in this bundle:

Task Cards

These task cards will review common grammar and writing errors. 64 grammar task cards, digital and print, are included.

Novel Unit

The novel The Haunting of Hill House is a popular story to which most teachers have access for free. This unit is 100% editable and includes vocabulary work, questions, and a final test.

Writing Prompts

These picture-inspired writing prompts cover narrative, argumentative, and informative writing.

Freshmen English Prep for Success

Meet standards in one spot! This dense set contains questions, activities, and materials to meet different eighth grade standards. You will receive questions for short stories and informational texts, podcast activities, grammar and language review, and writing activities.

Activities for Literature

These activities can be used with any short story or novel. Since summer school requires scaffolding, you will have a variety of tools for students to show their learning.

If you are running an ELA summer camp, looking for summer school English activities, or searching for additional tools for a summer school ELA curriculum, these English activities will help.
