Use the resources provided to help students keep all their assignments organized. It's a good tool for teaching students accountability for their own grades and papers. There are suggestions for how to label the dividers, what to include in the binder, supplies, etc. There are three reproducibles or printables, including a Cornell-style note-taking sheet, a reading log, and an assignment sheet for keeping track of assignments and grades. A student notebook can be used a progress monitoring tool, a writing portfolio, to showcase on Parent Night or Open House, and to follow the student to the next year to show the new teacher his/her likes/dislikes, strengths/weaknesses, etc.
