This past summer my AP Language students had to read one of the following books: "Made in America" by Bill Bryson, "The Great Typo Hunt" by Jeff Deck and Benjamin Herson, "Bryson's Dictionary of Troublesome Words" by Bill Bryson (I won't use this one again--it wasn't a narrative style like I thought it would be), "The Mother Tongue" by Bill Bryson, "Between You & Me: Confessions of a Comma Queen" by Mary Norris, and Eats, Shoots & Leaves" by Lynne Truss. This is the test for "The Mother Tongue." They took the 50-question test and had 40 minutes for the test and then 15 minutes to use their book to check answers. An answer key is included. Also included is a 100-question test and answer key. This does not have to be limited to AP Language.
