Product Description
This is a powerpoint presentation guiding the students through Browning's "My Last Duchess" with a focus on the effect of the poem's metre (iambic pentameter) and the implied character of the speaker in the poem. The lesson aims to take the students beyond the simple PEE model for their response and instead to extend their explanations by using RTB as a mnemonic instead. RTB simply means 'root' instead of 'point'; 'trunk' instead of 'evidence' and 'branches' instead of 'explanation'. The idea is that the explanations are more developed and extended than they would be with PEE.
