PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This is a reading comprehension activity for beginning students of English as a Second or Foreign Language which can be done in the classroom or for homework. It is written in the present and past tenses.

There are two writing exercises: 1) students must write the definition of 10 vocabulary words (they can use a dictionary or the internet) and 2) students must write complete sentences to answer 10 questions for reading comprehension.

The teacher can review both exercises in class with each student and begin a classroom discussion for speaking practice. The last question is “Do you believe that a dog is man’s best friend? Why or why not? Students can express their opinions aloud.

By the way, both beagles are mine, so this is a true story! I hope that you like my photography too.

Enjoy teaching!
