Great for ELL and Newcomer students!
This cut and glue activity is a great way to build language foundations in mathematics. The directions are simple. Students will cut the 3 forms of numbers (Spanish, English, and Symbol). Then, students will glue them in rows onto the chart. I like to have students make their own chart in a notebook so they can reference it throughout the year. That part is up to you!
If needed, students could use Google Translate to help. I like for students to practice reading numbers aloud after they have glued.
My ELL kiddos love this activity! It builds their confidence and boosts their verbal participation in class.
This sort contains numbers 0-19. I hope this is helpful in your classroom!
This would be great for students learning Spanish as well!
