This is a mini activity that I give to really challenge their assumptions (which is what "To Kill A Mockingbird" is all about!).
I bring in a bunch of shoes that have been kicking around my house...all different types - sandals, high heels, running shoes etc.
(If possible, I try to bring in all MY shoes, just form one person, because it really shocks them in the end)
Then they look closely at the shoe, and make assumptions about who owns them.
There's also a bonus page that's where they write a personal narrative creative piece for the show owner. I included this just as an extended writing piece, but it can be left out.
It's a creative way to get them talking about assumptions, gender roles, etc!
