This is a beautiful and colorful set of 100 flash cards of action verbs with my own photos and it can also be used as a PowerPoint lesson. Each card is 3 inch width by 3.5 inch height per portrait page. You can print 4 flash cards (vertical) on a PowerPoint page for a total of 25 pages. It is a good idea to print on card stock paper and use a paper cutter. You should laminate these flash cards to enhance longevity. They look great laminated!
Write the names of your students on the board. Put the flash cards turned face down in a plastic bowl or small box.
Ask a student to choose one card and perform the action verb. The other students must guess the correct verb. The student who guesses correctly gets 1 point on the board next to his/her name and then must choose a different card to perform accordingly. The teacher can write each verb on the board as it is revealed so the students see the word spelling. At the end, the 3 students with the most points get a small prize from the teacher.
My students really enjoy this game and they all like to perform in front of the class!
You can also show this beautiful PowerPoint slide show in the classroom to review 100 action verbs.
