These are PowerPoint notes and can also work on interactive whiteboards and SmartBoards. I'm making the Scientific Revolution set available for free for you to preview so you can get a feel for it. This set is the same concept but with different designs and information.
These have been a great tool for me and do a good job of holding the interest of my students (it helps that I'm excited for the material when I present it and I turn it into as much of a conversation as I can!).
Included in the .zip file is the PowerPoint, a Word document with an outline of the notes on the PowerPoint for the teacher to use, and an outline to pass out to each student that has some words filled in and some words just blank.
Why I like these notes: Students need structure, and even advanced high school students have trouble staying focused for long. The fill-in style of these notes requires students to write the most important parts down, yet also gives a psychological boost in that they don't feel the pressure of writing down EVERYTHING.
I don't like to go overboard with PowerPoint effects as I think it can distract rather than enhance, however, I want students to listen while I elaborate on points rather than just skip ahead to write in more. That's why I have it set to only reveal one bullet point at a time until I click the button to move on.
As an added help, it plays a sound effect when you transition to a new slide (not one for each bullet point, just one to signal a new slide). This helps take care of problems with focus before they start, as when a student starts to drift they have an audio cue as well as visual that there's about to be new information for them.
Each PowerPoint package costs $1.49 and includes the PowerPoint and two Word Documents, however, I'll also upload the entire chapter (this one is just one section of the chapter). If you buy the whole chapter in bulk, each set of notes will be $0.99 and it'll include a bonus Jeopardy review game.
