Worksheets like these come in handy to introduce your students to historically significant figures like John Locke, Voltaire, Immanuel Kant and Benjamin Franklin. These are unusual no-prep bellringer puzzles that include inspirational quotations and fun facts that help bring these figures to life!
This puzzle pack contains four combinations of puzzles and fun facts that will simultaneously challenge your students' verbal skills and get them thinking about these historical figures in a new light.
Here's the backstory: the evil Dr. Malicious is trying to erase these thinkers from history by mangling some of their quotations. Your students have to put those quotes back together in order to stop her!
Ideas for Classroom Use
This collection of puzzles can transform easily into an activity by using the included "Playboard" that students can use to figure out the puzzles. Just cut out the little slips of "paper" for each puzzle, and then arrange them on the grid provided. You can also laminate the "paper" pieces and re-use them over and over again.
You can also use these as an introduction to your lesson plan, as a review before a test, or simply as bell ringer activities for your early finishers.
The fun facts help round out a lesson by providing a mini-lesson!
