PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Either as a class or on their own, students read through a list of quotes and ideas generated by Enlightenment thinkers. Then they apply those ideas to the United States Constitution and Amendments to the Constitution.

This activity both helps to generate a discussion on Enlightenment ideas and how they may contrast with Absolutism/monarchies (if quotes are discussed in a whole group or group setting) and reviews/previews U. S. Constitution and Amendments.

Includes quotes and/or ideas from Hobbes, Locke, Voltaire, Montesquieu, Rousseau, Wollstonecraft and Baccaria.
