This is a great practice and review game for musical groupings! Let your students experience a duet, quartet and more. Great as an icebreaker and movement activity, too. You can even leave the recordings for a "no-voice" day or nonmusical substitute.
Directions: Students walk to the steady beat as the song is played. When it stops, a musical grouping is called out (i.e. solo, septet, etc.). Students have only a few seconds to get the correct amount of people in their group and link arms before the music stops. Those that have the wrong number or have no group are out. Play continues until the grouping is too big (5 students left and nonet is called) or there is a winner. Then, the game begins again!
Recordings feature a female voice and piano accompaniment. Choose your version and mix-up in a playlist or CD for easy accessibility. Print out the sheet music and play for your students. So many options are included to make this game an easy and fun favorite in your classroom. Click the preview to hear a sample!
