These task cards are meant to be used with Dr. Seuss' The Lorax. They can be done in small groups or individually. Students will get a set of 12 task cards and the answer document. Their job is to follow the task cards and create their own ecosystem while answering comprehension questions of The Lorax. For example, Task Card 1 asks "What does it mean to be biotic?" and Task Card 3 asks "Name something biotic from The Lorax." After they answer some questions like that, they move on to questions directing them to add specific parts to their ecosystems like bodies of water and predators and prey.
I chose to arrange students into small groups so that they could work cooperatively.
