PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Looking for an activity packet for “EarthDay 2015” lessons? Make your classroom lectures and discussions more than just a single content topic. Investigate the impact of time, money, and individual influences that affect our home, Planet Earth. Here is an inter-curricula bundled activity, presented from a mathematical approach, ready to focus your student’s attention on some of the more important environmental and ecological topics of today. Demonstrate to your students how economics, science, mathematics, ethics, and other content areas can come together to expand their understanding and lead to exciting and educational discussions. Many of the titles might be a great lead-in for student projects or presentations that would enhance your student’s classroom learning experiences.
As an added activity to the Global Warming activity the teacher could look at a recent Ann Curry documentary on NBC discussing the issue of Global Warming. The teacher could show this 1 hour presentation for class discussion.
The teacher should download the FREE “How to incorporate spreadsheet software” guide at www.teacherspayteachers.com/store/MrNick1. You should then present the techniques of graphing and generating equations to each student prior to beginning the activities. Incorporating technology and computer software into your lessons makes for more improved student understanding of how mathematical concepts and analysis are applied to their decision making process.
An answer guide will be provided for each of the activities presented in this product to assist you in making your classroom an exciting and wonderful learning arena.
