This activity is also found in my Enzyme Unit
. Print the enzyme-substrate matching cards and cut out the parts. Randomly distribute to students. Tell students to notice that each has a unique shape (like enzymes.) Students move around room and find their match. The point of this activity is to have the students look at the specific shape they are given and notice that it is unique.
The E side is the Enzyme and the S is the substrate. Students should know that a substrate matches the active site like a jigsaw puzzle piece and makes the enzyme specific to its substrate.
