It’s time to bring some adventure into your math classroom! This multiplication worksheet will place your student in the role of a hero, one who must save the land of Matharia from monsters! How? By doing multiplication of course!

HOW DOES IT WORK?

There are two stages to this worksheet—training and battle. In the training phase, students must choose one of three weapons and solve the ten corresponding problems to unlock it.

In the battle phase, there are ten rounds. Students must solve ten problems for the monster they’re facing (in this case, the Evil Ent) and ten problems for themselves, based on the weapon they chose in the training phase. For each pair of problems, the higher product wins the round. If the student wins more rounds than the monster, they win! If not, they can either accept defeat or try again (by completing more problems). For each battle, one weapon will win, one will lose, and one will tie.

This resource will bring some excitement to math practice, and there’s even a story that goes along with it to help get your students in the right headspace!
