This is a multi-level teaching piece for string orchestra to reinforce good left hand technique. This piece is all about keeping fingers down! Students must keep F#'s in place while switching back and forth between F# and G andkeep E finger down while switching between E and F#. Students can practice their tunnel fingers when they switch to the A string. Part 3 teaches students to leave down fingers using a more basic rhythm. Before learning this piece, students should know the following notes: D, E, F#, G, and A. Students must also be able to play the 'miss-iss-ip-pi ri-ver' rhythm on a D scale. This piece is 24 measures.
