Product Description
This activity can be used during an introductory lesson to fractions and has 2 components.

First, after introducing the concept that fourths have four parts, eighths have eight parts, and halves have two parts, have students practice identifying how many parts each of these pictures have and sort them under the correct heading. There are 16 cards to sort.

After completing the sort, students can go around to the different picture cards the teacher would have hung up around the room and write down halves, fourths, or eights to describe the equal parts in the picture. There are 10 total pictures.
