This unit is a basic introduction to Equality and Inequality, focusing on Virginia 2nd grade Math Standard of Learning (SOL) 2.22, which states, "The student will demonstrate an understanding of equality by recognizing that the symbol = in an equation indicates equivalent quantities and the symbol (inequal) indicates that quantities are not equivalent."
The unit starts out with anchor charts that have clip art and without clip art. Then, there are 4 different interactive notebook pages that you can complete in Math Journals or regular paper. I have provided example pictures for each activity. A Guided Practice page follows the interactive notebook pages. There are 8 different practice pages, with and without clip art--6 paper and pencil, as well as 2 gluing sorts. There is a center game with a recording sheet. Lastly, I have included an assessment for the conclusion of your unit. At the end of the packet, there are answer keys for all of the pages.
Download the preview to get the "Equality" and "Inequality" anchor charts without clip art.
