This activity lets students choose which flavors of gum will be sold in a new school gumball machine! They choose 3-5 flavors for the 60 gumballs that are in the machine, and it must initially be filled so that it is equally likely to get any flavor. Students must then create an ad for the school newspaper using step-by-step instructions. They must also determine how many of the 20 gumballs in the ad's picture would be a proportional sample of the 60 in the actual gumball machine and color them. This can be a printable activity or send to students digitally as a Word Project.
